Zayda L. Garcia,  Executive Director, was raised in the San Gabriel Valley. For nearly three decades, she has built a diverse professional career, effectively applying her background in psychology and the nonprofit sector. She is proud to serve as the founding Executive Director of The Rudolph J. and Daphne A. Munzer Foundation in Long Beach, CA.

Before joining the Munzer Foundation, Zayda was Chief Operations Officer at Kids In Sports in Los Angeles, where she developed sports programs for youth in low-income communities. Prior to that, she spent eleven years as the founding Executive Director of the El Viento Foundation in Huntington Beach, CA. There, she created a college pipeline program for at-risk youth, integrating life skills training, academic support, and parental education. Her vision helped the organization form strong educational partnerships and bring meaningful change to the underserved Oak View community, earning recognition throughout Orange County.

Zayda has served on nonprofit boards focused on at-risk youth and community development. She enjoys hiking, adventure travel, wine, kitties, and is proud to call Long Beach home. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.

Monica Ochoa, Program Associate, was raised in Los Angeles, CA. She brings a strong background in nonprofit safety net services, healthcare, public policy, education, and program evaluation to her role at the Munzer Foundation. Monica oversees grantmaking in the areas of Family Support and Healthcare, working closely with organizations that drive meaningful changes in Long Beach.

Before joining the Munzer Foundation, Monica worked with Maternal and Child Health Access, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles, where she coordinated the Oral Health Advocacy Program. She also served as a Research Associate at LA Best Babies Network, focusing on raising awareness about maternal depression and advocating for its prioritization among policymakers.

Spending countless hours in Long Beach, a city she now considers her second home, is where she connects with local nonprofits, attends community events, and witnesses the positive impact of grassroots efforts. When she’s not working, you might find her exploring the vibrant food scene—Long Beach eateries come in at a close second to her love for community engagement.

Jeri Lynne Cullison, Office Administrator, was raised in Santa Monica and earned her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA. Early in her career, she worked in hotel catering sales and convention services, followed by a successful stint in publishing sales—gaining valuable experience in client relations, logistics, and communications.

Jeri Lynne discovered Long Beach when she and her husband purchased their first home. As their family grew so did her involvement in their neighborhood and local community. Naturally drawn to service, she became an active volunteer in their church and the Long Beach public schools her children attended. She served as a dedicated VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) member and held numerous leadership roles with the PTA, Millikan High School Booster Clubs, and the Quest Parent Committee.

Moving back into the workforce, Jeri Lynne became the Administrative Assistant to Daniel Munzer at Munco, Inc., where she was introduced to Daphne Munzer, Founder of the Munzer Foundation. In September 2017, she joined the Foundation and is currently the Office Administrator—a role that allows her to blend a lifetime of skills, her love of Long Beach, and a commitment to meaningful service. 

Outside of work, Jeri Lynne enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog Brady, tending her drought-tolerant garden, winning the occasional game of Scrabble, road trips, and anything that brings her close to the ocean. She continues to enjoy volunteer opportunities, especially with the non-profit organizations she learns about through the Foundation.
